The case for carbon cowboys (22:11)

Adaptive multi-paddock grazing — the practice of rotating cows and beef cattle from pasture to pasture on a ranch or farm — is a promising approach for regenerating soil and sequestrating carbon emissions. Peter Byck, a professor at Arizona State University and director of the film “Carbon Nation,” offers an update about ongoing research. Industry leaders get together to fight the plastic waste problem (29:46)

The Alliance to End Plastic Waste, initially backed with more than $1 billion from the likes of BASF, Chevron, DSM, Henkel and Procter & Gamble, was launched this week with a mission to scale solutions for minimizing and managing plastic waste and creating new uses for reclaimed plastic. Jeff Wooster, global sustainability leader for co-founder Dow Chemical, offers perspective on why we need yet another alliance focused on the plastic waste problem.

Procuring renewable energy is generally a complicated process, which is one reason many midmarket and smaller companies have yet to get on board. Lynda Clemmons, vice president of sustainable solutions for NRG, talks up new programs the energy company is developing to make the process far more straightforward.
