Why Tyson Foods is digging into land stewardship (27:43)

Working with the Environmental Defense Fund, the food giant plans to scale up its use of cloud-based agricultural technologies from MyFarms and opted-in farms from Farmers Business Network (FBN) to collect information about agricultural production practices. The aim is to cultivate more sustainable farming practices. Tyson Chief Sustainability Officer Justin Whitmore — who was this week also named executive vice president of alternative proteins — serves up more details.

What’s on the menu for The Protein Challenge 2040 (34:17)

How do we ensure sources of protein as the world’s population swells and climate change makes current methods of food production unsustainable? That’s the question posed by The Protein Challenge 2040, spearheaded by a global coalition of NGOs and multinational businesses. Sandra Seru, U.S. director for the Forum for the Future, dishes on a new initiative in U.S. schools aimed at increasing consumption of plant-based foods. The missing link: more menu items from food giants.
