Maria Sepulveda is the global director of sustainability at Flex, a cleantech manufacturer with over 200,000 employees over 30 countries. Flex uses the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals as a blueprint for business strategy, as well as employee development and training programs.
The manufacturing industry is undergoing major changes, as consumer pressure asks production to cut down on waste and make processes more circular. For Flex, that’s already something the company is “into,” said Sepulveda.
“Customers are looking for this. We looked at this since the beginning, but they’re not just looking for price, they’re looking for sustainability aspects,” she said.
